Do I need to get a marriage license?

You do not need a marriage license if you renew your vows or join a commitment ceremony. However, you will need a marriage license prior to your ceremony if you intend to be legally married once you leave our chapel. You can obtain a Las Vegas marriage license very easily. 

How Much Does a Clark County Marriage License Cost?

The cost for a marriage license in Clark County is currently $102. The county only accepts debit and credit card payments for marriage licenses.

Are There Extra Fees for a Vegas Wedding?

Extra fees can apply to a Vegas wedding depending on the optional add-ons and upgrades you want to include with your Las Vegas wedding package, such as flowers, cake, attire, keepsakes, and reception

Is There a Waiting Period Before We Can Get Married After Obtaining the Marriage License?

There is no waiting period after obtaining a marriage license in Clark County, Nevada. You simply pay the cost for the license and provide the necessary identification, and it is issued immediately. 

Can I Get a Marriage License and Be Married on the Same Day?

Absolutely. It is possible to get your marriage license and get married the very same day in Las Vegas. Since the Clark County Marriage License Bureau is open every day from 8 a.m. until midnight, it is easy to walk in, get your marriage license, and have your ceremony afterward. 

What Kind of ID Do I Need?


The accepted forms of identification needed to obtain a marriage license in Clark County include:

  • Driver’s license
  • Driver’s instruction permit
  • Office state ID card
  • Official foreign government ID card or driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Matricula consular card
  • Military ID
  • Military dependent ID
  • Certificate of citizenship
  • Certificate of naturalization
  • Permanent resident card

The documents must be original and not photocopied or in digital format. 

What Are the Las Vegas Marriage License Hours?

The Clark County Marriage License Bureau, located at 201 E. Clark Avenue in Las Vegas, is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until midnight and on all holidays. The Henderson office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and closed for lunch from noon until 1 p.m. The Henderson location is also closed on all holidays. 

If You Get Married in Las Vegas, Is It Legal Everywhere?

If you get married in Las Vegas and obtain a marriage license, it is considered a legal marriage in the United States and most countries around the world. The person conducting your ceremony will file the marriage certificate with the county clerk, sometimes on the same day. This allows you to obtain a certificate of marriage before leaving Las Vegas. Even if you choose not to get a certified copy of the marriage certificate, the marriage is still legally binding.

Do We Have To Get Dressed Up for Our Vegas Wedding?

What attire you wear for your Vegas wedding is entirely up to you. For example, you could get married in beach attire or go all out and be dressed to the nines. 

What Hours Are You Open?

Our Las Vegas wedding chapel is open Sunday through Thursday from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 12 p.m. until 11 p.m.
